I'd been wanting to do this for ages.
Rolled up at Kimmeridge for a liesurely rig up and launch.Wind was above what I had hoped but it gave me the opportunity to use the sail.
Launched from the slip and after a few hundred yards flipped up the sail and I was soon cruising along at 5-6mph with the tide helping keep me on course.
Actually I was on schedule to arrive at St.Albins too early so on finding a lovely spot with a waterfall near Chapmans Pool I decided to have a bit of an early lunch.
Once fed I started to get bored so thought I would seek out one of the pot bouys that I had spotted en-route and tie up and have a fish.Mark 55.
As soon as I hooked up to the bouy and dropped the feathers over the side,,,,bang the rod was away,at least I'd have some fresh mackies
Wrong!
Pollack ;D
I was getting loads, singles, doubles,so much so I cristened the mark a load of pollacks ;D
The tide was easing a bit now and it was time to make a move out to a deep hole that I had planned to fish(no.52),I managed to rustle up a few mackies on the way.
Couldn't believe my luck when I found a pot bouy right on the mark No anchoring for me today! Quite handy as the mark was 150ft deep ;D
Dropped my baits over and sat there for hours without anything to show for it other than a few more mackies ;D Kept telling myself today was a factfinding mission for future sorties anyway
Who cares anyway ;D it was lovely out there
Just after slack water I de-bouyed and headed inland to shelter from the wind nearer to the cliffs for my return journey.Getting closer to Kimmeridge I heard a noise, looked over my shoulder to see a rockfall sod beach fishing there!
It was a beautiful evening
Finally made it safely back to Kimmeridge, strangely a 12 mile round trip ended up at 17 ;D
Lucky I saw this sign on my way back to the car park though
