Met up with Glyn last night at 7pm for a few hours mackie bashing and to see what else was about. Having been there recently with Richi et al I thought I'd give it another blast. After paddling 50m from the beach I lowered my feathers into the water to sort my rods out and bang - mackerel straight on ;D We drifted for another hour or so and caught some lovely mackerel, they certainly are bigger there. Oh AND NOT ONE BIT OF WEED ALL NIGHT!!!!!! After anchoring up we had lots of rattles, but as usual I had a massive lump of squid on the end so didn't see any bream/pout unlike Glyn who is the poutmeister afterall. At around 11pm the wind picked up a bit so decided to come back - we could hear the waves crashing on the beach so stowed all our gear in the hatches which was interesting sitting near the hatch in the large swells Anyway, managed to get back OK after all that......the anticipation was worse than what it was really like although coming in at about 8mph straight at the shore fishermen and trying not to tip in off the waves. I had about 10 mackerel in total but had a really nice time - did I tell you there was no weed?! Here's a few pics - I will certainly go there again, hopefully for a day trip to fill the freezer as it always makes me smile catching mini tuna ;D Glyn in his monster yak No conger, but that can wait till another time
