some nice boats second hand for 10k looked at warriors, elite explorers, and orkneys so far guess it will be used for 95% fishing, needs a cabin, capabale of 40mile range, usual safety and fishing accessories, trailored etc

id find a nice wilson flyer 23' with either a diesel in board or a newer 4 stroke outboard.
failing that i would go for something a little larger 26-28 foot long, capable of putting out some pots, pulling a small trawl possibly but also that you could get 5 or 6 lads on and have a decent days offshore fishing.

if you can find a good fisheagle 19 it beats all other boats in that size and price range hands down

I have to agree with Scotty. I have an English Raider and they are totally the dogs danglies. I have had a few boats and it knocks spots of them all. Also with a decent engine they go like stink (I have a Merc 135 Optimax) and very good on fuel.

I must say I too have a Raider, but mine is one of the newer Polish ones. It is the 18ft wheelhouse version, which I use almost every weekend on trips of up to 30 miles out. I can honestly say there have been no occasions that I have encountered any of the problems that have been publicised by English Raider owners. I wonder how many of these English Raider owners have actually experienced any of these problems or are they just "chinese whispers"? Incidentally I have been out on an English one too and in my opinion there is very little to choose between them in the performance department.

i would suggest the arvor 190 .ive had this boat for 14 months and i can honestly say she is a good buy.loads ov room in the back with all the mod cons and with a really good 85hp turbo diesel which is alright for cruiseing around 14 knots.they retail new at £29950 but i got a 2004 model with only 103 hours on the clock for £19000.bargain.
