Tackle Bargains have VMC 7240 Hooks available working out at around 30p each. I have looked at them several times always thinking to myself "Yeah but they are a bit pricey...". Anyway, eventually I decided to take the plunge and very pleased that I did: 1. They are of the Aberdeen type with fairly long shanks and "microbarbs" making them good for worm baits and easy to extract from the fish. 2. They have a tinned finish rather than nickel plate, which ensures that they take ages to start rusting and seem to stay sharp for an equally long time. 3. Although they seem pricey, they have such a long life that they are in fact quite economical. The 2/0 size seems about right for general fishing although I also bought a pack of size 2 for flattie hunting.
