Just a quick one .
Pollock, catch, gut, hang for a day, to drain.
Fillet and skin.
Cut into strips half inch wide
Put in seasoned flour then fry
Serve with mash, peas and chilly sauce
Dogs bollocks!!!

Yer welcome to it mate largely tasteless in my experience, that's why you won't see it in fish restaurants. Now if you get a Dover Sole, that is something else...... BTW it's POLLACK not pollock

Well Nipper I am torn; because I got to admit you are right... and wrong When I was your age we couldn't give pollAck away to the potters for bait But as I got older and the good fish got fished out , well what can I tell you. You hit it on the head. Dover's are expensive to buy so peoples taste changes. Lets be honest about it , Go into a Mc Donnalds, it is packed!! Filo of fish in a bun, Give them a bit of fresh fish and they would think it is heaven. I just watched this program called Hungry Sailors or such like. They came to the IOW and cooked Huss!!!! Times are a changing Try the PollAck. In a stir fry Trust me!!!

1... Fresh Mackerel, first of the season, summer on the way. Grilled ,bit of vintager
2...Turbort..Enough said
3...Place ,peas and chips
I fxxxxx hate the blxxxx chefs who get a nice piece of fish and cover it with sauce

pout made into fishcakes, (dogfish, ="rock salmon" "huss"),anglers cant be bothered to skin them, nothing wrong with either of these species , forget poncy recipes. tight lines lads, oh and the best "red gurnard"!

Yeha,Pout fishcakes,finest kind. I got pissed off last year when I walked along the beach and saw a box of dogfish , caught by boat punters , that had been dumped in the tide. Total ignorance, total prats,total waste of fish Bloody annoys me when people kill fish then dump them
