bk bass over eight pound from the shore is specialist stuff for sure doing it a couple of times is nice but doing as regular as you good self is specialist as is sunnys mullet fishing and the targeted species of specilist anglers up and down the country ...specialist sea angling is not so common as for coarse anglers but you sir are at the forefront of bass angling as sunny is for mullet one thing i am quite sure of is that as our seas empty there will be oppertunity for fish of a few species to capitalise and some new records will be set ...i think the bass record will go in the next few years i base this on the number of big fish turning up in the press maybe i am wrong and they never got reported before ..we will see if i am right.

1. I've got a real liking for VERY FRESH whiting - cooked simply it's got a really delicate taste. Though I like eating fish of many kinds, I don't eat many that I catch, and what I do eat is nearly always cooked simply and on the bone - I hate the waste involved in filleting.
2. Mullet as #1 for all-round power, stamina and unpredictability at times (they can run fast and hard too, and be prize sulkers as well). Mackerel for speed and energy - I reckon many would fish for them as prime sport fish in the UK if they just grew a bit bigger. I really rate the Shad I've caught for their aerobatics, energy and speed too: I reckon they could beat a mackerel in that department, and the average size is higher. I'll give bass an honourable mention for their initial flat-out runs, but I just wish they had more in the tank....
3. Anything I've really had to work hard to catch - for example, something you spot and then eventually catch, even if it isn't easy and takes persistence. From that point of view it doesn't have to be a monster, just a challenge.
