Breif report as need to find some petrol What a cracking day weatherwise for a mid week session with a mate from AnglersAfloat. Target was a Blonde or Spotty Ray. Began out at 70ft, loads of Dogs as the ebb kicked-in. Upped anchor (while we still could) and moved inshore to another mark. 2-300 yards off, the tide still required respect at just over 2 knots in 35ft, my buoy was under for the first hour. Few Dogs thankfully. Wondered what the heck this was when it broke surface : PB Slug! Lovely colours, bright red on the underside. Then later, the catch of the day for me: Beach or boat, my first and only Spotted Ray, well chuffed. Cheers James

Great photos James....and good to hear you managed your first spotty. They are my favourite ray for some strange reason.......guess I just like the paternation of them. And a PB slug too; so two PBs in one trip....outstanding
