hi all ,has anyone had any previous experiance with just fishing boats off of grange rd netley.lokked at a boat there but thought his prices were high .if i was to pay the money do they give any back up or is it buyer beware ,it seems they buy a lot and then hike up the prices ,i have seen quite a few boats on the net for sale only to end up there with a higher price ,my question is do they service and sort any faults before they put them back up for sale justifying the prices or that the prices are just high.

I looked at buying from them a few years back but didnt. (Like you I found their prices just a little high and there seemed no room for negotiation). They were always polite and professional tho, and they did seem to have boats at all budgets.
They've been about a while so their service cant be that bad or i'm sure they would have moved on by now.

i had a boat a few years ago. NEVER NEVER EVER AGAIN. he sold me a sea worthy boat with a hole in the bottom. when i told him he said he sold it to me after he fully checked it but never put it in the sea to test he then told me its not his problem any more and put the phone down. he is a total prick

The general situation at present is that the market for small boats is rock bottom due to the recession, etc., so there is no need to pay over the odds and you should check the market thoroughly before you buy. E.g. A 16 ft boat with a 40 hp Mariner is presently being offered on Hayling for just £740.

whent back and tried to do a deal ,price now gone up??? just cos the suns come out .wont be going back again!!! Isn't that just supply and demand?? We all know the cloudy winter period is when we are gonna gat a bargain. Caravans, campling equipment, boats ..... they're all the same.

so you feel that they reeled you in then inflated the price according to your interest. Possible, but i cant see they would sell too many with that tactic.

my question is do they service and sort any faults before they put them back up for sale justifying the prices or that the prices are just high. They certainly dont! and the ''verbal'' 3 month warranty is useless aswell

as above. over priced with no back up, iv seen a lot of dodgy things from that lot, whether it was stuff he knew about or not remains a unknown.............................. beware!!!
i know they are only trying to make a living but you don't need a middle man, as none of them give any warranty worth having its a buyers market now and don't be shy to smash the prices down. the best time to buy is feb and march as mooring and storage fees are due in april and they don't want to pay out a 4k for a mooring, so they might take the knock on the price to get rid. also be aware the is a good chance that if they are selling due to not affording it the maintaince can be poor. all ammo for smashing the price down some more. i knocked £4500 off the asking price of my new boat by using time of year and looking at the poor maintenance and pointing every last bit out. happy hunting and good luck
