Hi , just watched a fishermans apprentice episode in which he visited a struggling fishing based village and it seems that they have formed a scheme whereby the local fisherman sold their catch straight to the community thereby getting a much better price for their catch , the locals got prime fresh fish cheaper than what they pay in the large supermarkets , so hopefully the netters wouldnt have to catch so much leaving us shore danglers a few more, it seems to be working really well over there , has anybody got any thoughts on this?

Pretty sure it happens small scale in Ventnor and possibly Bembridge? Could work well, be interesting to know how difficult it would be to set up, health safety/food hygiene/legislations etc. Good idea though, especially if based in a tourist area, restaurants/hotels etc can advertise locally caught fish on the menu etc and prove it!!
