Howdy, will be on honeymoon in florida in september. the daytona beach/ palm beach area. looking at doing lots of sea fishing, preferable on a charter boat from the beach near daytona. have done a bit of research but i dont want to have to book the 'one guy and his boat' for a day, id like to jump on to a couple of charter trips where possible. also is this a good time to fish florida? any advice from anyone that knows would be much appreciated...cheers, Aaron.

All I can suggest mate is go on World Sea Fishing and ask the same question
I,m sorry you have had no response on here but apathy runs rife through this forum unfortunately - either that or try and contact/email tackle shops in Florida Keys and see if you can get a booking that way
Best of Luck and dont forget to bow to the Tarpon when it jumps

Aaron, most of the piers and jetties along that bit of coast are geared up for anglers with on site tackle shops selling all that you will need plus, most of the time, livebaits.
The piers have bait stations with running water and cutting boards.
Charter boats fall into two categories, small fast bass type boats that take just a couple of anglers and are very expensive, several hundred dollars a day, and party boats. These are huge, more like our ferries and can carry in the region of fifty anglers. Expect to pay UK prices for these but you do get to share a deckhand between three or four of you. The deckhand lands and deals with your catch and some boats cook it there and then.
I have never had much success on the party boats and the system of fishing is very regimented, I do enjoy the piers though, you can catch all sorts.

guys, great help there. thanks for that, these party boats seem a bit dodgy for me, and likewise the smaller charters just too damn expensive, but ill be sure to do some live baiting from these piers. thanks again, aaron.

I fished miami only a few weeks ago, plenty of fish to be had, spanish mackerel early in the mornings, and the tarpon are easy to see but most places you see them fishing is prohibited, i would advise to take some strong tackle as there are plenty of sand sharks to be had from local bridges etc, plugging was fun for the barra and gars, also lizard fish, sure you will have a cracking time.
