Had a slow walk from Egypt Point to the Parade and back at dusk last night, casting lures all the way. No signs of any Bass or Pollack only mullet mooching along the wall. Anyone having success on the lure this year?

Hi there,

Best year for me on the lures so far. Managed to winkle a 6lb'er out on a Zonk a bit back plus a stack of smaller fish. I'm having to do a lot of walking in out-of-the way places though. There are still large shoals of smaller fish worth targeting, as these often have larger fish lurking about.

Keep plugging away, maybe keep walking when you reach the little harbour @ Gurnard...

The 'little harbour' in Gurnard? do you mean by the luck, or by the sailing club?

I don't know the name of the area. Have a bash down the footpath that leads to Thorness Bay.
