According to a post on another site, the monster is on display in a tackle shop in Portsmouth. Congratulations to the lucky angler that caught it

It was caught by a novice angler using frozen medium size sandeel and a shakespeare combo outfit. Taken from Portsmouth dockyard and now on display in Lock Stock and Tackle, Elm Grove, Southsea.
19lb 13oz and 8 drams after coughing up a 1.5lb pout.
No pictures yet as Sea Angler have an exclusive deal. Claim being submitted to the BRFC.

Fantastic catch....congratulations to the captor; stardom awaits....
I have to confess being sceptical....but it now seems to be true. It's a shame it threw-up the pout then...otherwise the weight would have been well over the 21lb line....
Does anyone know what the largest trawled/netted bass is ?

In excess of 25lb Nick I believe - apparently the lad that caught the Bass is in the Military - he has raffled the Fish and all proceeds to go to a charity that supports combat vets suffering from P.T.S.D. I also believe the captor is off to Afghanistan shortly so God Speed
