Just a quick question i was thinking about trying for a bass, just wondering if they are even still about this time of year with the weather getting cold

Personally I would say yes - I will be trying - emphasis on trying - for one tomorrow Night - I know of someone who had a Double on New Years Day this year - Bon Chance

They show amongst the cod out in the boats, no reason why they shouldn't from the shore, few years back a friend of mine had a double from bembridge harbour around this time - had it on light gear, size 1 hook flatty bashing! River can throw a few up too

great advice Drew for those of us without the depth of knowledge. If not pushing my luck, and without discussing where, any chance of extending the bait info. Are we talking squid and pout fillets ? or are you referring to worm baits also ? or maybe shellfish - you tease many thanks Alan

Wow BK you really know your stuff when i comes to bass, the only bass i ever seem to catch is on a lure at yarmouth pier in the summer haha, so 2.5lb is my biggest, i saw someone catch a 8lb bar once and nearly wet myself ;D my turn will come.
