hi all recently i been using braid on a fix spool real for beach fishing im intrested to know if any one uses braid on their multis and what results you have got by using it fors and againsts as im tempted to give it a go any advice would be greatly recived many thanks and tight lines also have a great xmas and new yr to all

The general rule I believe is that you don't use braid with a beach casting multi because the line is can "bed in" with the consequent high risk of a birds nest. I use braid on my boat fishing multi and that is fine but would not risk it on a beach casting reel except FS as you are doing. Not saying that you can't get a tangle with an FS reel but it's a lot less likely.

Hi Ian try 8lb breaking strain braid with a 10oz grip lead , hit it as hard as you can preferably into wind with a whole mackerel as bait ( not clipped down ) ps lets us know how you get on  Cheers happy christmas and new year to you and yours .  |
