as a recent joiner i would like to make a suggestion;:i would like to see fishing diaries added to the menu board . my reason for saying this is there is a lot of back slapping happening but almost no exchange of useful info which ought to be the mainstay of this site . A pro-forma could be devised to include weather ,moon phase, wind direction ,type of ground fished .bait, method & gps numbers if u care to share . and u could think of more useful stuff i,m sure .we all know the value of a diary to an individual - it could be a potent weapon if even 10 pc. of us took part and should only take 2 mins. to complete. it should have a space for comments also, as hard info on succesful methods is like gold dust , but would be invaluable and save years of unproductive labour for our members . your comments on this would be appreciated , but i think it could breathe new life into these pages regards dave

This could happen, but it would need to be only viewable to members as lots of people view this forum as guests. Could we maybe pay to view this?? just a thought? I know people do not like to share all the info, like bait, tackle, GPS location, as you can guarantee lots of people will be fishing that place when you want to go out next time

i agree with members only. dont really agree with paying although there could well be good arguments for .I would only expect people to give info they are happy to share ,and general locations would still leave work to do which would not be a bad thing !re numbers of anglers showing up there arnrt really that many of us particulary boat anglers .im more bothered about commercials and that could be a problem. dave

Bleth, Some folks like to share and are willing to trade, or simply donate information...others see their catch reports and advice as simply a oneway street...its not an easy area. Boat anglers in particular are very cagey about numbers ...and I guess that if you have devoted many many hours to searching for good marks then publicly announcing their location may seem akin to angling suicide.
Shore marks, well some are as used as a super-market shopping trolley, but others are hard earned and kept quiet. If we end up with Diary Entries that are all just the well known spots then what would be the value of the information ? If there is a common call for it I will happily create the board.
Over to you guys
