Ive been Fishing for more years than I care to remember
Invariably Ive bought Fish home for eating purposes but rarely cleaned them until the following Morning
Now Im reading that Parasites leave the gut of fish and contaminate the flesh as soon as the fish dies??
Im amazed Im not dead
Your thoughts peeps?

I tend to gut mine on the beach, but only cos Mrs Loopy would remove the baby makers for stinking out the house and making amess of the kitchen. Heard about the parasite thing but mainly in regards to sushi - uncooked innit

1. Most parasites don't actually kill fish anymore than the number one human parasite which is a gut worm, kills people. It is highly unlikely that a fish parasite will infest you because a) cooking will kill them b) they are not adapted to human physiology. 2. I also gut my fish on the beach because it's best to get rid before the guts begin to rot and contaminate the flesh. Having said that, it is known that it is good to keep your fish in the fridge for a day or two before eating because the flavour improves, just like meat. This is particularly true for whiting and sole. In fact, some chefs will keep sole in the fridge for up to five days because it keeps getting better.
