Used to fish off Cleveleys (Blackpool) Now living on the Isle of Skye , 1 mile from the sea and 4 miles to the nearest (free) ramp. 5 free ramps within 25 minutes drive. Boat is a Crescent 42. Similar to an Arran 14 but power by seagulls (5 of them). OP - Wartime SD - ACR - WSPCL - LLS - only last 3 will be run in seawater. Just retired from running a Toy Museum so this year I'm planning to get out lots. Brilliant summer last year - no rain for 12 weeks. Now fishing with braid for the first time. Seems like a nice friendly forum but time will tell. Loch Pooltiel in picture - my local ramp. Attachments:

Not so bad where you are. Took at trip on a bigish boat from Christchurch to Yarmouth (40 years ago) and the skipper said that the week before they caught a 80lb conger . One big pull on the rod and it came straight out of the water and into the cabin. All they could do was shut the door and wait for it to get tired
