Hello. I used to fish when I was much younger (now 50). Often I have felt the ure to start fishing again. One of the things I am goignt to do is go fishing on holiday. I regularly visit tenerife and want to try fishing off the rocks. I am looking for advice as to the type of rod to use (telescopic to travel easy) or buy, reel also and also what line size hook etc.If anyone has fished off Tenerife (I'm usually at Los Gigantes) and has any advice to tips i would appreciate it greatly, thank you

The rays down there are out of this world and vitually un-fished. You would need heavy kit for them. But the pace is famed for its rock fishing for large pelagic mackerel - spanish meckerel I think. So spinning kit with some casting ability.

As i remember Tonsagrief and Lanzagrottys' harbours were full of mullet, some respectable sized ones too. Different seasons threw up different game fish out in the boats and there are some monster stingers out there. Bon chance fella and welcome to the forum
