TOF. Banned?

I was talking to The Old Fart who used to write a lot on this forum, and asked him why he didn't come back?
He said that he did try to get back on to as he said 'Wind them daft buggers up' but was banned when he tried to log on.
Although I only normally read what is on the forum, and do not contribute to starting threads, I feel I must ask why, The Old Fart has been banned?
I know he may have ruffled a few feathers but he was entertaining .
Please explain why he has been banned?
He made me laugh, and occasionally had some serious things to say like Killing Dogs

Staff members do not discuss bans on the open forum...sorry

But TOF was not banned; if that helps. I suspect the problem is his server or home PC.
I wanted him to stay/come back....entertaining, contacerous, old sod

We are at a friends 90th birthday party tomorrow, so when I see him I will tell him to try again.

Hopefully he will not be too pixxxxxd to remember, but as te hooch is free, I doubt it.

Failing that I will pop round and see the silly old sod in the week, although I know he thinks that a server is someone who brings the drinks out, and a home PC is a personal carrer

Hopefully his grandson will sort that out

Saw the old fart today, and he said that it still comes up as banned when he tried to log back in.
I told him to start a new account under the name of T.O.F. To which I got a grunt and told that the 'would get his Nippers Nipper to do it' so he might be back soon. He has got the right misery at the moment owing to the 'bloody weather', so hopefully he will be at his miserable,cantankerous, annoying usual self upon his return.
Still he does make me laugh!

His grandson just rang me and said that he has tried three different names and all came up as banned. I just tried to open an account and after filling out all the bits I pressed the finished button only to be told 'an error has occurred and you are banned from this forum'
Recon this should be looked at and some administrators should try to open an account, to see if they get the same problem

Are we certain he hasn't registered and forgotten the password ?
Try the logon link and 'forgotten password' process. He can always change the displayed name once logged in...under the profile tab...or get someone else to do it for him

I just went to see TOF as he had recieved an email with an account named T.O.F.
We both followed the links for the accounts and it comes up 'error you are barred from this site.
Don't know why it does it , but it does.

I hope that the fishing reports that you supply are as funny and interesting as some of the stuff the OldFart used to put on this site.

From what you and others have posted, during the winter, I can't say that I am waiting with great anticipation .

Yes we need people to give fishing reports, but lets face it , they are boring and not what is going to encourage people to come on to this site.

What has been on this site since Xmas?

At least the OldFart got people logging on and replying to some of the stuff he put on ,funny, daft,or annoying as it may have been.

Personally, I used to hit this site regularly to see what the old fool had to say, and sometimes have a good laugh.

Now I look once a month, and see there are only a few new threads a month, most of which are ,let's be honest, dull.

If more people wrote on this site, it would be more interesting , and get more hits.

This thread has not stopped you or anyone else from putting a thread on the site about your reports.

People don't have to read it but if there is nothing else to read they will.

Don't blame us for trying to get the OldFart back on line.

Write a few threads yourself that will get some interest on the site.

Love him or hate him TOF was interisting Let's get him back I say.

ive read all of TOFs posts close on 200 all entertaining many thought provoking and some pure gold fishing info .

but the other prob regarding b&b i think is the desire among mods to avoid the rough & tumble of peoples, opinions.as soon as a thread gets contentious posts get deleted etc and i just dont think this is healthy.
no i dont want to see personal abuse , but the members will say if someone is out of order , i have refrained on occasions from comments that may annoy , but really why should i ? this is a predominately adult site . but opinions, even misguided ones have their value---- & what happened to free speech ?

ive read some of the most contentious threads on wsf & they have all flared up, simmered for a while & commonsense has prevailed . point is wsf is lively & entertaining .& i,ll bet most on this site also log on to wsf
Bully has over 200 replies on his rebuild project& nothing nasty anywhere but people are interested.

no we dont need another wsf but chill out you guys and we might get some more participation otherwise, whats the point of it all?
