I'll be in Pompey over the Bank Holiday weekend (Sunday to Tuesday) with the other half and we're looking to fish each day. Much happening there at the moment? Will probably fish South Parade Pier, Hot Walls/Round Tower area and anywhere else that forum members suggest.
Ideas?
Cheers

Clive
That might even work - depends what the good lady thinks.
When you say loads of stuff is getting caught, what species and what bait are they coming up on?
Also, are they big tides over the weekend and what's the weed situation like there?
Cheers

Smutts, raymonds, should be some bream showing by now too Kev. Weed should ease off an hour and a half each side of the high and low waters. If you come over load up on worm, crab, squid and summat fishy to cover your bases, Drews' shops just up Union St - bait on your doorstep, winner

the run of rays on the pier started in march but has really died off now , the biggest thornback was caught by myself and weighed 12lb 5oz, best single session was a fabbo evening of 8 yes eight rays for dazza and daz newland.............
and also a first ever that i know of was a undulate of just over 10lb for a local angler
the weed situation at times is unfishable, horrible stinking sludge
but smutts are showing along with a few usual suspects
remember anyone that fishes it, day tickets stop at 10pm and litter bins are provided and should be used !
the construction work compound has gone so much more room this year !

Thanks all - didn't make it across this time but will do shortly. Fishing in Pompey was to say the least disappointing....... Not much about where we were fishing but blank avoided by a pollack so at least another one for the species count!
Looking forward to giving Ryde Pier a go before long - and to catching up with some familiar faces ;D
Tight lines
