hi, ive just got a boat and she needs alot of work before i dare dip her into the sea! starting with the bits i know, (wich isnt much) so going to do the electrics first. the electrices are a complete hash up! absolutely awful, just about every switch is corroded and dosnt work and no labels on any of them. so a complete strip out and rewire. i was wondering if anyone is using capacitive sensing for switching? as i figured if i built a controller to operate it then i could do away with conventional switches and just have a plastic plate with zones for switching, that way no more switches to corrode or break. if anyone is using this kind of thing how is it performing? and have you found any issues with say fish slime affecting the capacitive reading?
kind regards jason
