Apologies upfront to those who may of already come across this request elsewhere but it is important to maximise coverage to ensure we get as many contributions as possible..... Bangor University are running an EFF funded project Sustainable Use of Fisheries Resources in Welsh Waters. As part of this we are looking into developing an online angling diary, but we want to know what anglers would expect from an online diary and also if there is enough interested to make it viable. It should be noted that the diary would be extended to anglers outside of Wales. As such I would be grateful if you could complete the Recreational Sea Angling Diary Application SurveyA quick getout option is available, so that you can let us know you have no interest in an online diary, which will only take 10 seconds to complete. Some of you may of seen the various threads on worldseafishing forum about the Sustainable Fisheries Project. If you would like to express an opinion on the project then there is a Bangor University Sustainable Fisheries in Wales Recreational Angling Engagement Survey you can complete. Once again there is a quick option to let us know you have no interest, however please only participate if you do fish in Wales, either as a visitor or a resident. Full information is available to registered and logged in members at the worldseafishing forum, on this thread. thank you. Thanks to all those who have contributed so far. I'll post the a summary of the diary feedback results once the survey is complete - only fair - I know us anglers get surveyed quite a lot and there is often no feedback returned. Anyway, currently running at 40 completed surveys for the Diary and about 20 for the Sustainable Welsh Fisheries one. Need at least a 100 to be able to considered "reliable". If you would like more information, then an extensive introduction and a question and answer series is available here www.gmonkman.eclipse.co.uk/misc/wsf_post.html

The diary and Welsh sustainable fisheries project feedback surveys will be closing this week, they had 61 and 32 respondents respectively.
The project still continues however, and Economic interviews of anglers will be rolling out shortly and the collection of biological samples is going strong for the foreseeable future!
I will be working through the submitted diary data and the questionnaire over the next month and hope to be able to provide a high level summary to the forum.
thank you to everyone who contributed - there is still time to complete a survey if you havent already!
