Now that winter is just round the corner, and it will soon be dark at 2.30 in the afternoon, we got to face the unpleasant fact that very soon we all either be.....
A. Stood on the beach freezing our nuts off.
B. Sat in the car watching the rod tip through the windscreen as the rain lashes down.
C. Huddled under a beach shelter of sorts, freezing our nuts off and getting wet as well.
But the thing is that all the time we are spending in these pleasant conditions, the bait that you have carefully saved up for, and now hooked to a length of monofilament and cast into the sea, lays on the bottom of Davy Jones locker, in pitch darkness, being slowly covered in seaweed as 12 lb Bass swim past totally unaware of its presence.
So I will give you Nippers a tip and before you all say that you have been doing it for years, I did it first so it's my idea.
Well you know them rod tip lights that you shake, or snap, the thin ones, well tape them on to the top of the shank of a long shanked hook.
Then the glow will attract the fish.
Now, before you all take the pee, has anyone tried it, and did it work as well for you lot as it did for me.
It also works Bloody well in the depths of winter when Cod fishing on a boat, or wrecking in deep water.
Problem is that if you loose your gear it gets a bit expensive , but there again what isn't?
By the way Mrs Old Fart on the herbal gear, and looks bloody fantastic, and she's put on half a stone!!! Thanks for all your support, It means the world to us

Heard a few good reports about glowing lures etc, anything that attracts the fish has to be worth a try Respect to the Mrs

Good shout TOF. The commercials use them in the tropics and I think they use them for swordfish on the grand banks.
Has to be a brilliant idea for Cod around our inshore waters; to add to the standard scent trail tactics.
Keep hope in your heart and our thoughts are with you mate...
