As I am going to be a bit occupied over the next few days, as daughter has to go back home.
I will put this one to you lot.
The last thread was that fish can't see colour, but can they hear ?
Now before any dopey bugger points out that the reason that fish can't wear hats is because they don't have ears, I mean are they attracted to certain sounds?
I went for a quick beer today with my chum Mick the Fish and he was telling me that he got all his Bass this season on the lures that rattle , News to me, didn't realise that there were acoustic lures.
So do they work?
If they do , the way things are going , we will be casting out multi coloured, illuminated lures that play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony .
Da, Daaa,Da, Daaaa etc

Fish sense sound vibrations as well as some 'sound', probably 'hear' better than us

Hey ? Speak up !
Surface Poppers set up splashy sounds that attract the fish and most of the lures we use for pelagics here contain rattles
I thought they all used vibration - which travels better through water than air - as the mechanism; picked up by the lateral line ?

Couple of charter fellas were promoting cuttle use to me due to it being just as stinky with the added bonus of not being shredded off of the hook by 'ting, dogs and pout

last year I was anchored up in Sandown Bay with a honda generator running on the boat. It was so calm you could see the tiny ripples where the boat was vibrating with the genny.
As I looked over the back of the boat a dirty great bass came up out of the depths, came up to the back of the boat had a good look and then swam off slowly back down.
I am convinced he was checking out the source of the vibration.

As usual people get personal when someone tries to put a few ideas on the forum .
Suggest cam starts a few threads, because I shan't bother anymore.
From what I can see he hasn't started any, good input into the forum!
Why should I bother?
Just to get insults from from the likes of him.
I got other things to spend my time on.
