Hi Gang I have just bought a Tronix Centurion Surf 16ft beach caster together with a Penn 8000 fixed reel with .17 Braid line, about 20lb bs. Can anyone share their experiences with this Rod in particular, how it fishes, best casting technique (I'm upgrading!!! From 12ft Rods) with a big pole they're must be big differences etc! Apparently these Continental type rods!! Demand lighter terminal tackle for more [delicate] fishing approach, just how delicate do I need to scale down too! Having never fished with braid, beach casting anyway, have I picked the correct diameter line at .17. The braid is Fisheagle super saltwater.
Any info would be great!
Regards All
Ken

Hi , I have a Penn Anaconda which is 16ft 4ins which I use when fishing places like Chale to help keep the line out of the waves when used with a large monopod Stand , as for casting all I can advise is slow your casting speed down and let the rod do the work , Cheers
