Freshwater or Sea fish all count Loopy Cams team have won every leg of the comp so far and are well ahead in the final quarter, they have shown no mercy.A fantastic achievement,in fact half of the teams have folded under the pressure. Never have so many asses been kicked by so few

Right, white and green sleak looking thing = Richi....got it :0)
Have the Hobbies taken off over here yet ? Everyone had them in Dubai...although they do a lot of trolling there so having your hands free is 'a must'
Is your new tub as stable as the old one ?

Right, white and green sleak looking thing = Richi....got it :0) Have the Hobbies taken off over here yet ? Everyone had them in Dubai...although they do a lot of trolling there so having your hands free is 'a must' Is your new tub as stable as the old one ? The hobies are struggling here, there is probably less than 10 people that fish from them.Hobie are trying, they have sponsored 3 team anglers but unfortunately they have done quite badly in the comps they have fished and lost credibility through that and too few launches.Hobie are talking about increasing their team size but I don't think it will make any difference to their poor sales here. They are not kayaks and do not behave in the same manner, they can be a real liability on a rough sea as you have no paddle to brace with because you steer them with your hands.I was out with a mate Friday down near Dungeness who has one and he wished he'd brought his traditional fishing kayak with him. There is a lot going on with sponsored teams in our sport, their biggest problem is selecting a team that has credibility,a team with little credibility is worse than no team at all. There is a new player on the market that has fell right into that trap. More teams will announce in the future( I know one that is close to announcing ). They got the teams idea from America where kayakfishing is a big sport, can't see the team thing taking off here as 1/ we are too small as a sport and 2/ the companies with the 2 most desirable kayaks on the market do not need gimmicks to improve sales, they are doing it by superior design and more seaworthy boats A lot of the newbies are getting conned though. The new kayak handles totally differently to the old one,it took me a few weeks to feel relaxed on her.It is a lot faster than the old one and comes from Stealth kayaks in South Africa where they have a lot of experience building racing skis.It is scary with the sail though Exciting times ahead for kayakfishing with some great composite boats now on the market and a great one from a UK designer that really knows his stuff that will be on sale soon.

Great info Richi... its true that the seas over there are nowhere near as rough as ours, so the Hobbies are able to cope. In addition, they never anchor and that does make a difference to what you need from a yak (I guess).
But it sounds like exciting times and the ongoing developments will add to the mix. keep us updated mate
