Hello all, im planning to try for a flounder saturday morning as you can guess in the river medina, low tide is about half 8 so plan to fish it up.
Right here goes the questions, can you fish the medina at low water? (by that i mean is there enough water there to fish in)
Number 2, if you have any other ideas where i can hook into a flounder on saturday morning let me know.
Number 3, any tips on catching a flounder would be very much appriciated as i have never caught one.
Tight lines !!!!!!

If you're fishing from dead low water up i'd try Bembridge harbour. Start at the mouth inside or around the breakwater fishing the channel, as the tide comes up either move further round to your right and try to avoid the boats going out or try Attrills boat yard, walk a bit further and go off of the mill wall (this can be fished 1.5 - 2 hours before HW) or go back along St Helens front, anywhere along there fishes, i have 2 favourites, at the start of the wall to the left of the breakwater and just to the right of a small stone breakwater near the end of the beach huts. If you get there at low look at the ground to see where the gullies/pools/channels are. Plenty of rag worm, maddies preferred to snakes, use at least 2 rods, one short ish, one far, i like to use 1 hook clip downs and or 2 hook patternoster rigs, long snoods, size 2 hooks. Ref the river, not my forte i'm afraid, certainly not for fishing from low. Dodnor wall and the folly are my favourite spots, await advice from others on this though!! Good luck!!

Hi cant help with steps one and two but step three ,cardinal rule like with most flatfish let the bite develop ie don't strike at first sign of bite and if using a multiple hook rig there is a chance of attracting another fish .

Hi Sharpey also look out for the slack line bite if the weather is calm you will see the line drop and then probably tighten up again and then drop again just leave a few minutes then bring in your plump three pound Flounder , good luck would be good too hear how you got on it might even inspire me too get off my backside.

Dodnors dodgy that early, you could get waist deep in jip getting out to the water initially, the folly's a bit safer to try earlier on in the tide
