I know that I have mentioned this before, but there are other Beach and Boat sites on the web.
Some ,strikingly the same as this one!!
So why don't 'we' this forum, put in a section that links us to them, even if just under general fishing.
Personally, I would rather 'hit the forum' and have a yarn with someone in The UAE ,or NZ than find that nothing has been posted for two weeks, and by looking at their sites ,Iam sure they will feel the same.
Still just a idea for 2014

I set up the one in Dubai, but the guys there come and leave so quickly (giant revolving door) and as fast as guys joined we lost others who returned home. Like so many before it that forum is flagging and will inevitably slide in to obscurity. It needed the guys to be passing the word around to recruit new members, which requires a lot of effort and energy. But you meet anglers and you don't know whether they are great guys or will simply join to 'take'....and then when you do meet a good guy he leaves Dubai to go home 6 months later !
Post wise it was mostly me and a Brit lad called Dom and now I have left he is a little disheartened. It's a shame because there are no other sites which match our UK style of forum. The other sites running there (two on facebook) which are fairly busy, but one is (almost exclusively) for yak anglers (they let me join in) and the other is for the crowd who kill absolutely everything, even 2 inch long baby fish. Most on the latter site are only interested in finding out where you were fishing so they can swamp the place; to kill everything. The yak forum is driven by its founder and no doubt if he left, for his home country, then it too would slide away. Trouble with forums they require so much effort and trying to compete with the big boys is not easy....as we know, in the shadow of WSF.
The one in Australia/NZ is not aligned with us and although they are an interesting site, the fish are all exotic and there is rarely interest from UK anglers in foreign species. I witnessed that when posting my Dubai reports on here. There was some interest, but its not the same as home-grown news.
I am happy to do what I can with the time I have available, but trying to compete with the fulltime unemployed is no easy feat. I wish them every success and they seem to have done very well in virtually sucking this forum dry. We that remain do so because we know this forum and are happy to be members.... :0)

Well.... As it seems quite easy to get on that site as I get it every time I hit google, why don't us members put posts on their site?
If you think it is ok I know I will.
I would love to pee them off by telling them what wonderfull weather they are missing here , when they are sitting on the bloody beach in January, making the most of their cool weather.
What you recon, it's your site, and it will give them something to read, then with a bit of fresh, on the site perhaps word will get round.
