Hi , whilst in at east cowes tackle shop I noticed some really good lightweight welly boots not cheap but at forty quid they are really light and easy to get on and off with removable inner lining and cold proof down too minus 30 so a pretty good boot all in all , I was wondering if anyone has tried them and would they wear just socks or is it worth using a ron Thompson neoprene inner sock to add too the comfort? Cheers for any replies

Open cell neoprene is breathable apparently, but welly boots will not allow moisture to escape either - although I have heard natural rubber is supposed to be a little breathable.
Whether a pair of boots will be warm depends on the thickness of the lining - ignore the advertising. I find 3mm neoprene inadequate for standing around, but some boots have much thicker linings. Find out the thickness before you buy.
