Just one for thought. If time or money was no object what would be your ultimate fishing experience or wish? Mexico for the marlin? The Norwegian fjords for the monster cod/coalfish/wolfish/halibut? Lake Victoria for the Nile perch? Florida for Tarpon, Big salmon/sturgeon fishing in Canada etc etc? Have to admit, mine would be going for the biggest of sailfish, money being no object i'd even take old uncle Snoops, a week (or 2) trolling for monsters with cold beer on tap afloat in the sun, eating out each night with our OH's plus various cocktails to destroy the last few remaining brain cells prior to a snooze, the morning daybreaker and another trip out, heaven

Always fancied the fjords thingy for the humungus Cod and then getting smashed out of ones tats on the local brain rot brew I lived in Sweden among a host of other countries so I know there is some pretty mean Scandawegian aperitif's out there .

cod fishing in the fjords for me.
I went after sailfish, marlin and dorado for my 21st birthday,( very, very good ) and was planning to go after cod with my late father, but he dropped off the radar.
Definitely to be done, especially after watching Henry Gilbey, and to fulfill a wish.

Back in the day I worked with a lad who had been to Florida.
He told me that there was a bank near there where the Bass came into breed every year.
So what they do is catch one Bass and tag it with the winning number for the jackpot.
Other Bass are caught and tagged for lesser prizes.
Put it this way, the first prize is over £10 as it is sponsored .I think back then it was over 10,000 dollars and that were nearly 50 year ago.
Then off they all go for the day to try and catch the jackpot Bass.
From what he said ,anyone went in anything that floated.
If it ain't caught it goes to the next year.
As far as I know it still happens, so I would like to fish that.
But knowing my luck I would catch the bastard the following day. Be a great trip though!
