Due to the big tides today I would be lucky to get 2 hours on my mark, but I still decided it was worth it,right decision or not?answer at end of report.
Set myself up for launch and for once I was early.Decide to launch 10 minutes early, shouldn't have but you know what it's like.Anyway, headed out and it soon became apparent that I would reach my mark too early and the tide would still be too strong to anchor there,sh1t! what to do......
pot bouy to the rescue
Tied up here and had a cup or two of hot chocolate then it was time tom head to the mark.I arrived at my mark dead on to the minute and within a minute of anchoring up and dropping the bait down I had a fish on.
Every bait within a few minutes of being down had a smut on and they were all a good stamp of fish.I'd had two aboard in the first 10 minutes and so it went on,every one a decent fish.
After about an hour I hooked a real big one and it ran and ran. When I got it to the kayak it looked like a Tope it was that big, definately a pb starry
Last crab went down after about an hour and 20 minutes and as per normal, hooked up in no time and it felt heavy, similar amount of runs and strength as the previous one and when I got it to the kayak I could see why.A pb common
I ended up with about an hour and a half on the mark.Seven Smuts all around the double with the two high teens at the end
If Carlsburg did Smut fishing trips they can f*ck off because I won't be taking them they couldn't handle the tides
