Well, spot X off of Shanklin did good the other night and from advice taken from some of the more regular Yakkers spot X can apparently produce in the morning/daytime too Would've been rude not to!! Apparently this place fishes well a couple of hours either side of high and low water, i managed to anchor up bang on 2 hours before the low. First chuck and this charming fella was tempted by a sandeel As soon as i'd put him back and re-baited the other rod lurched round... My first smutt on the Yak Only a small ish one but a good scrap, i found it quite surreal fighting it one side of the yak whilst watching it swim around on the other side! Third chuck resulted in this welcome arrival My first sizeable billy on the Yak, good scrap from it along with two good fillets As soon as the tide finished going out it was like throwing a switch, the bites just pretty much dried up for the next three hours!! I did hit a couple of small shoals of what i guessed to be unhookable diddy Bream and there was also a mackerel shoal that bubbled up around me twice but i left them alone - mainly because i couldn't be bothered reeling up the dead baits and putting feathers on!! Still waiting on the big undy, think i'll give it an evening trip again next, the early start was a bit too painful!!
