Coming of the Dark

Winter is just around the corner.

Dark at mid afternoon, cold, wet, miserable and as usual nothing on TV.

Mrs OldFart, owing to her health scare has gone on a health kick, which means I have to as well.

My roll ups (after 60 years) have been replaced by a Vapestick. 'But I still can't light the bloody thing)

My Gin and Tonic has been replaced by Becks Alcohol free  ( I did explain that Gin is made from Juniper Berries and with a slice of a lemon that is two of the 'Five a Day ' but to no avail .)

I also explained that things that are smoked and pickled last longer, but this argument also fell on stony ground.

I am expecting to get 'Pamela your pump up plastic passionate pal' for the morning Daybreaker at any time.

 So what does this winters fishing hold for us?

Staying at home watching TV  is not an option. I live on the IOW, what do I care about a fictions load of Northerners living in a Street, or Londoners come to that.

So it's down to standing on the beach again drowning Worms. But.......

Now how about this and I know that apathy rules this site, but just for a giggle get members to put their name down now, the one who catches the heaviest fish, weighed in and photoed on this forum ,nominates another member for that Ice Bucket Thing and picture on the site.

New year the deadline.

I know bloody well I would nominate Mrs OldFart if I won.

The way she is going I may as well join Quarr Abby

I've done that ice bucket challenge, Missus Loopy wouldn't let me wear my dry suit for it either

My target is still a big Undy on the kayak, hopefully a cod too but i bet i'll just get a bloody eel instead!!

It's a no brainer that Uncle Snoops would get my vote

I am starting the 'stay in bed for a week' chalange next year, but I think that the late and great John Lennon may have thought of it first ,re the White Album.

Aye, I know where you are coming from ,but it must be said there is many time in our marriage that Mrs OldFart has wished she had a bucket of iced water to throw over me, and it had nothing to do with raising money for a noble cause. 

Mind you We were a lot younger and active then, but let's not dwell on last week, the health kick tends to take your mind off of such things, especially as eating healthy food has now been introduced.

No more curry, chips, anything I like. 

Looks like I am set for many a night drowning worms from the beach this winter.
