Hampshire Police Marine Unit said on Twitter the ship was now moving in a south to south-westerly direction.
The vessel has begun to move from the sandbank
John Wickham, a spokesman for Svitzer, cited a combination of the tide and the water being pumped out of the vessel for its refloating.
He said the team was trying to "take her back".
"They are all saying 'grab it' - they have got tugs down there and are putting lines on it," he added.
He described conditions on the water as "not too windy and not too bad".
