Well, the 02/9 saw another weather window co-incide with a pass, Luke was up for it again along with Dan, another new yak dangler in our group plus 3 others. Both Dan and Luke were still waiting on their first rays from a kayak, i figured another trip to Shanklin was the best bet to sort out that problem!
Lets start with a few scenery shots
The mackerel were a bit thin on the ground but the scad were fairly plentiful, fresh baits dropped down, happy days!! Calls to my left indicated a few fish coming in, i managed one undulate, easily in double figures when Luke popped his cherry with a wee spotted tea bag!! Smutts and doggies kept us interested until something decent hooked up with Dan, which he lost...... Then another, which bit through his snood halfway up...... Then another!! Which he got onto the yak!! Third time lucky! A 12.5lb undulate.
Poor Luke, less than 30 yards from Dan and me couldn't buy a decent fish, i pulled up another couple of double figure undies (one with Dans rig hanging out of its mouth!!), Dan a couple of eels, more shouts to our left about rays and eels, busy busy busy...apart from Luke!
I hooked into a decent eel,
My problem was that a mate wanted one to eat, but where was i going to put it?!
Sorted!!
After we all got back in it turned out we had 25 ray between the 6 of us aswell as a load of eels and bait/nuiscance fish. John and Andrew even got to share a ray -the gutty bugger had taken both of their baits!
But then i had a bit of an issue, getting that sodding eel out of my hull!!
Job was finally jobbed!
