Another pass coincided with what we believed to be a perfect weather window for what is probably my favourite mark, the weather buoy about a mile off of Sandown but, on arrival, we discovered the weather forecasters were lying bastards!
Second choice was also too lumpy but good old reliable stinkpot was just about doable!
The mackerel were extremely thin on the ground, i only bagged one! I managed a couple of pups in the daylight...
But then it went massively Q word, i had bugger all. After a while the boys started to hit fish whilst my rods did bugger all, not that they let me know about it....much.
Just before my bottom lip hit the deck and i had a proper strop i tagged a pout which swiftly became two baits which, in turn, and swiftly, with a bit of recycling bagged these three, one after the other!
Happier, i dropped a squid for a last cast and caught a mahoosive sandeel too
Not my best trip but for one suicidal pout it could've been proper pony!
