Is it me or does it seem every ones deserted this forum it used to be alive with reports and so on but now it's a rarity that any one posts even to the point we never see sunny no more to answer questions I've asked over a month ago I feel it may be time to move forums for me as lack of participation and support on every ones part

Hi walker thanks for taking time out to reply at least some ones here it's disheartening when you don't even see sunny no more I posed a question over one month ago and had no answer from him I'm afraid this forum has seen better days and every one seems to have gone to pastures new including sunny by looks of it

I assumed Sunny's absence was due to a lack of fishing since the mullet have all but disappeared, and that could be a reason for many of us. I haven't posted as much because I've caught bugger all this year worth talking about!

I just have a quick look around now and again, but it's hardly worth it on here now, shame as it was good? As it is a local type forum, depending on where you live of course, it would be a shame to see it go! At the end of the day it is all down to us the members to get it going again! if any one is interested?

Hi lightly thanks for your input I agree totally about us keeping it going but as I said I asked about a new sub forum on freshwater fishing so I can share my catch reports but there's been no reply form sunny the site owner it doesn't infuse much enthusiasm to keep it going If the forum owner can't be asses to answer hence why I'm looking for more active forums shame as you say it's island based for island ppl for info or should I say the lack of now

I can't help you with the whereabouts of sunny, maybe clive can, as far as an active forum goes only one that keeps going is WSF, not sure if it has an active F/water section? There is another one Southcoast something or other??? but its more mainland anglers on there. Sea fishing wise, there is not a lot about, I don't think! good luck in your search.

There are some of us from a little further afield that do read it (Skye) but maybe it's the fishing that isn't worth talking about. For me it's been a poor year , not out in my boat once (dire weather) but the shore fishing has been OK. Lots of good sized Pollock and even a 12" sandeel on a 3" steel lure .. A very large Pollock was following it in. plus loads of Mackerel - good sport on light tackle. A two week holiday in Courtmacsherry , Eire in September produced nothing. Even the locals wern't catching. Not even mackerel. Bought a couple of drop shot rods for Christmas so will be trying those out soon.

I haven't been on the site much other than to put on a couple of posts about the old chap since he died . Aka The Old Fart ( my son found his password on his laptop so I have used his account)
But the reason for the decline is blatantly obvious.
If people can't be bothered to put on posts, then there is nothing to read.
Nothing to read then people don't hit the site .
that is why the old chap used to try to wind people up so much ,so they would reply , regard ess of their views, so there was something continuously going on the site.
Mind you I know he did like winding. 'Them daft buggers up'
if people can't be bothered to put a post on the site will die.
It doesn't really matter what the post is as long as there is something new to read.
It ,in my view doesn't cut a lot of ice by just saying, 'we haven't posted because there is no fish caught'
Bollocks, TOF would be spinning in his box behind the sofa ( we can't scatter the ashes till next spring)
Put some post on as to why there is nothing caught. A few radical ideas about catching fish , alternative ways to spend your time away from the wife , when you are on the beach in December.
Anything , people will read it and some will reply regardless of how daft it is.
I spent a lot of time with TOF while he got the hang of the laptop writing on this site, he would be upset, but not surprised that it seems to be fading away. like he said to me once.
'Nipper people don't give a fuxxx anymore about anything '
I think he was right.

PS.
When TOF put a couple of posts on other fishing sites he was slaughtered ( once barred) for daring to put in an alternative view to what people wanted to read.
Overfishing? No such thing , more fish now than there have ever been , trouble maker here !! etc
I read their replies with TOF , one or two dared back him the rest towed the party line.
I think it was called World Sea Forum or some such,
perhaps ps they could have looked up the meaning of the word Forum.
Bloody hell I am starting to sound like the old chap
Take Care!!!

I have been nearly to touching distance of your bridge m8 but sadly never crossed it, perhaps one day I might get to wander around your beautiful Isle. At least you have been fishing, me, never wetted a line this year, never went to Chale, must be the first year for yonks so never pulled in any Painteds. Perhaps the coming year will see me on the beach again.... hope so! lighty
