Anyone know if the steps are still there, or is there now an alternative route down there, or whatever because not been for
1 and a half years so not sure if the latest route down has gone?

Be careful you might find the remains of the oldfart2 and his gear ,maybe that's why no one has gone down there

lighty rare post from me as the admin cant be @ssed to reply to my post nor have we seen him but my nipper and his m8 went down last night from what he says u can get down mountain goat style but it seems to be falling away so id say make the most of it if your going dwn as it seems things are on the move there so you wont be able to for much longer he didnt spot the oldfart2 remains or any remains of his gear stay safe go careful down there its not for the older generation so to speak

Had another answer likes yours that said it was still possible to get down there, so thats good news, means I can get to my favourite
beach without a real long walk.

Thanks for the warning about the older generation, which is me, I tend to climb about a bit slower now
but still like the climb up and down. It's walking on the shingle that kills me bloody smoking! but I am careful.

First time I have been on the site since I wrote about that night.

Havent been fishing at nighttime since then.

As far as I am concerned the best thing that could happen to that beach would be for the whole cliff to fall away so that no poor sod could EVER go down there at night! 

And of if you ever do DO NOT, do what I did and take a Ouija Board down with you to prove a point.

They don't work on your own do they! Even if you just touch the top of the glass because you KNOW that you ain't pushing it.

Please, I really wish that you didn't make those comments about one of our finest beaches out the back,
and I sincerely hope that no one takes any notice of you about Chale, it is a great beach to fish from, but if you are going to take a ouija
board down there and you are of a nervous disposition, then what did you expect.I would imagine that you could of had the same result from any beach on the Island
regardless.
Me and countless hundreds plus, have fished Chale without the slightest problem, though I have to admit one or two have been spooked, but it isn't confined to Chale,
others have been spook on many island beaches. If you want ghosts, go to Newport, by all accounts there is loads there?
