Hello peeps, I am very fortunate to have retired early and bought a house on Hayling. Sorry can't do B & B at the moment because we ahve a house full - maybe in future. You are welcome to drop in for a cuppa and a chat however. Even more fortunately I have found a great fishing buddy (Sean) who also lives here and at 6'2" and 20 stone is my minder. We have had a dam good first season on Hayling - plenty of bream, bass, whiting and of course mackerel. Sean tried float fishing at one point and caught a 6lb sea trout (wow). Yes, of course we put it back. Had the odd flatty too but still working out best spot to get 'em. We have an open boat with outboard between us, a collection of cheap gear cos you don't need expensive stuff to catch fish, know where and when to get bait and have learned a lot about the Hayling hot spots. Sean has been fishing about 18 years and me around 12 so we know a thing or two and will help if we can. Enjoy yer fishin'

Welcome to the forum Eccles, brilliant intro, sounds like your enjoying what Hayling has to offer (plenty!). As you will see the forum has plenty of anglers that fish Hayling regularly so everyone should benefit from the joint expertise. Plenty of experienced friendly anglers from both beach & boat alike. Enjoy! Pete

Welcome to B&B eccles . My, how envious I am of your position (early retired and loads of fishing). Unfortunately I would appear to have many more years in front of me, working for the Yankee dollar !

Daren, I have heard about but, not tried, two areas for Sole: 1. West Wittering cos they like coming in on the tide over all that sand. 2. In front of the Golf Course - about 300 yds west of IOB - same reason. Have you tried either of these venues mate?
