If its skate you’re after then Davie Holt is your man to help you catch them. I had the best time fishing with him last year than at any other time fishing for me ever. Davie likes nothing better than helping others to accomplish there goal in catching skate. Take a look at his web sites for the tagging forum and his skate web site..............truly amazing. |

That mark doesn't look very far from the shore either. Nice fish mate a true giant.  Some one told me once that you had them off the IOW until the banks were dredged away,dont know if thats true though Im too young to know for sure I have a pic in a fishing book of jack Hargreaves fishing for them off the IOW. judging by the background, he`s off somewhere between brook to blackgang, and not very far out at all! Mind you the book was printed 1968  Its so annoying when you think of how good it could be out there ,if only governments would wake up and see how much money we as anglers put into this country and give us our fishing back. Makes my blood boil to think those magnificent fish were wiped out or moved on just for ballast.  |

nice one man . how meny trips did it take to get one ? It was my first trip out to catch a skate..........Davy Holt kindly offered me and a freind Dave Morton to got to Lochaline and fish from his boat for the skate. |
