Here's some text which was with photo:
Lee Tower was built at the end of the pier in 1935; it was Art Deco in style, and 120 ft tall. From the top it was possible to see right across the Solent to the Isle of Wight. Inside there was a restaurant, a cinema and reputedly the south coast’s best ballroom. Unfortunately, it was pulled down in 1971. Lee has definitely lost some of its character.
My parents danced to all the famous big bands there - not bad for a tiny seaside resort as it was then !

Nice one. The whole complex looks big as well as the tower! Shame these things have to go.

Well, there's virtually bugger all for visitors to do in Lee these days - Just becoming a retirement 'ghetto' full of flats where facilities used to be . |

I`m guessing the pic was taken early morning because i can see its summer as there is a load of weed on the beach. This always comes without fail around june/july. I would say that the beach would be full a few hours later (you know those Victorians) ;D |
