Took my eldest down the beach with some frozen worm saturday to kill a few hours. Bagged about 10 wrasse on every cast, couldn't even put the rod down to make a smoke without the rod arching over. Then the time came for imogen to learn to cast (her choice not mine)   I baited up and showed her the ropes......The first attempt nearly bagged her first black Labrador but when the coast was clear she flung out a good cast (surprisingly) and after a few seconds the rod jolted and she reeled in her first wrasse at 100mph. ;D Then another and another, i gave up and left her too it. After a few `vertical` casts she started chucking out a few good length casts and bagged a fish every time. She was well chuffed and wants to join the site and help me out on the bass comp...is there an age limit hehe? ;D Believe it or not its a wrasse not a bit of weed on the hook!!!   |

I took my little'un up Yarmouth pier for her fist session............and of course she wanted to cast like her dad.............bloody mayhem,....,but atleast she got her first fish ,tackle box,hat,coat,and nearly sent a Jack Russle over the side.....lol

Thats a bit harsh, i`m the IOW`s answer to james bond! I think i WILL sign her up and take her, imagine how sweet the victory would be if imo won it for us ? hehehehehehehehehe

Great pictures Dave and what tremendous fun! Just a little word of advice though - my buddy was fishing with bare legs last year and hooked himself, he now wears trousers everytime we go.

NEWSFLASH.......... Local IOW girl catches first fish on "fly" end tackle consisted of ......... hook +worm with heckle of black labrador fur (from rear end) well dun Imogen .. ;D ;D ;D keep catchin those wrasse .!!!!!!!!!!!!!! unc Gaz ;D (PS,,show ya dad up on the 10th....lol) |
