Nice one mate. My dad started off as a Blacksmith, not shoeing horses but making and repairing tools and equipment for the mining industry. I was an apprentice but was no call for it by the time i had finished. The forge has all been demolished now but i think the old man still has some photos, will try and scan them.

Met a old farrier who worked in the pits in the 40's and he was telling me that they shod all the pit ponies with copper shoes so they didn't create any sparks...!!!
