Hi all, i do a lot of work with sea cadets and have been asked to "instruct" on marine engineering. Aircraft fitter by trade,only know what i have done with my boat, so can anyone point me in the right directin for info on hull design. only basics as they are only youngsters, and i have to understand as well Cheers Dave

My old boat building teacher swore by looking at nature to find the best designs. He told me the old IP boats were designed on a ducks body. "The boats bow should be the same as the stern" I guess the IP was like this, but there are better boats out there obviously. Bloody good boats though, if not a little slow.

Bugga me........aint that just typical while us 100 mile inland land locked mutha,s were bein taught religeous instruction at skool all you sea shanty types were learnin proper stuff like boat construction......... lucky gits.... Gaz

ducks arse displacement boat will take the best sea,semi dis more speed but a limit with less slam planning slam bumpy and could be iffy in a following sea class of 85!!!!!!!!
