a 1800 ford is 99% sure to be a marinised escort / van engine. thay are quite a smocky old lump but very reliable, with cheap parts from any scrap yard you can get them from mermaids already marinised, hears there web site www.mermaid-marine.co.uk/html/mermaid_engines.htm drop them an e-mail and find out if thay have any in stock ( its the meteor 11 ) or if they have any recon engine as thay will be cheaper also keep an eye on e-bay and boat and outbourds or other wise get a kit from mermaids and do it you self, or if you can find a cized/blown up marinised 1800 ford engine and then go to the scrapy and change it over, but make sure you know what you are doing if he gos down this root |
