A tip for you Poms. paintng boats out hear recomended by the oyster farmers is to use paving paint I have it on my 12ft tinny (no not beer) for over a year and still looking good. Have used high gloss on outside and inside semi gloss with sand finish so do not slip. Roger

Yes that is the paint I put on a coat of Penatrol which also is a rust preventer and penetrating primer fills in scratches etc and will stick to anything and makes top coat go on much easier, was good on trailor no more rust Roger

Great tip but be cautious, alot depends on what's been previously used.
Single part paints (ready to use out of a can) wont sit on top of a proper 2 part paint but 2 part paints will bond to most coatings providing their sound (including single part paints). I'd always opt for 2 part gear to be safe. Not cheap but it could be the only answer in alot of cases.
