Hi,
Am after buying an entry level chart plotter.
Have read some good reviews on the Navman range. The cheapest being a b/w Navman 5430 - £260.
Just wondering if anyone has any comments on the above unit or any other recommendations for a unit, and also the C-Map NTMax charts.
Cheers Dave ;D

Dave, I've got a Navman 5110, got it for £155 from gaelforce marine, its great for the stuff we do in the small boats. Dont forget to factor in the cost of the CMap Card (about £80). The menu system is really easy to get used to.... www.gaelforcemarine.co.uk

We've just fitted that Standard Horizon one, we got it at the boat show for £330 including external antenna, brilliant bit of kit going by the reviews! The Marine superstore are trying their luck at £429 for the same model.

Cheers for the help chaps ....have been doing a good bit of searching this weekend. Cheapest Navman I can find on the net is a Navman 5430 - b/w screen (£199) from JG Tech - really like the look of this one.....the 5110 was new from JG at £250...although gonna do some ringing around tommorrow (Gaelforce etc) to see if there are any cheaper ones about... Cheapest Standard Horizon is the CP-180 at about £300..this looks like an excellent unit...... Will have to see how far I can stretch the budjet!! ;D
