Perkins M65 700 Series

Can anybody make any comment on this engine, have been offered a new one with 12 month warranty for £4k including wiring loom and panel. Its reported to have only been run for a couple of hours on a test bed.
Grateful for any comments good or bad.

not my favort but not a bad lump,
thay are fairly reliable and low reving to produce the power so there for good on fuel ,but perkins do smoke and tend to leak a bit of oil after a while,

as said above the jap engines are the nadgers, but come with a price to show it
if you can strech to it id pick a nanni (kabota or toyota base engines) or yanmar
