I've got a Shetland family four, which would ideal for that area - they are cheap to buy and very solidly built - will last forever if you look after it. I have an Indespension roller coaster trailer which makes launching a piece of pi** - can do it on my own without even getting my feet wet. I think for a cheap, entry level boat (18ft) you can't beat those Shetlands.

as already said depending on how much your spending, shetland or a 17ft dory then up the price to a 16ft orkney fastliner or strikerliner small max size motors so not too quick then you will go up to the bigger boys toys 19 orkney fastliners ,warriors, raiders 50hp to 100hp ect ect it goes on and on. it all down to price and what you want out of it .do you want speed or are you happy with 15 knots or will 6 knots do you? the faster you go the dearer the running cost will be. how many will be fishing in it? lots of nice boats out there ,but very easy to get it wrong.
