Don't want to upset anyone but compared to Furuno or Raymarine JRC are pretty low quality. If you where thinking of buying one I would spend my money on one of those two manufacturers.

J R C they make the radomes for a lot of manufacturers so they are not that low quality. if you want good quality radar you need to spend serious dough and go for open array radar scanners or the new digital ones. www.jrcamerica.com/

My m8's raymarine open array scanner has broken already and he's only had it fitted 6months ago! so even the expensive ones go wrong! in fact he's had problems with some of his other electronics too!

Hi Striker Some of both although Im not saying it is something that happens on a weekly basis. people quite often start with a small JRC or buy a boat supplied with one and then if they actually use a radar seriously upgrade when they feel flushed or bored at the boatshows. But I really have never changed a Raymarine or Furuno for a JRC Cheers Crackoff
